The Hype Magazine Interview w/Da Deputy

BIG Shout Out to Hype Magazine for reaching to do this Interview with Dep! Read The Q&A below!

Q: Tell me about Da Deputy?

A: Da Deputy is a 23 Year Old, Hip-Hop Artist from Fort Worth, Texas, who just wants to obtain The Worlds attention through Music.

Q: Who are your musical influences and why?

A: Right now I'm so much Influenced by this New Generation. J. Cole, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Wale, Nipsey Hussle, Big Sean, etc...their Stories of how they made it are what keep Me going. I guess I can relate a little more to The Newer Guys because not to long ago they were in My Position, just trying be heard.

Q: What prompted you to venture into music?

A: Well I really wanted to Rap after I heard Chamillionaire & Paul Wall's "N Luv Wit My Money" Joint. Chamillionaire was most definitely My Biggest Influence to start Rapping, due to his Wordplay. He just said lines that made People say "Damn, rewind that" & I wanted to be that Guy. Also UGK, not just because of their Hit Records but because they were just Highly Respected all over. I wanted that. Plus My Brother Don kept saying I was good & I should start doing it more...and I did!

Q: If you could describe your style of music in one word, what would it be and why?

A: I would have to label My Style of Music as very Creative. Everything about it is Creative & well thought out. From The Beats (rather their Original or a Sample), to The Concepts, to The Lyrics, to The Rhyme Scheme.

Q: What do you have as an artist that makes you stand out among the rest?

A: Consistency! For sure! (Laughs) Most Rappers don't/cannot keep up or exceed the Previous Momentum from when You heard them before. Like you'll hear a Record from somebody & be blown away, which kinda hypes You up for what they release next. So You hear The Next 2, 3 Joints from Them, and it's either not all that, or just not good at all. That hurts The Artist in a way because it makes The Listeners not as excited or interested in what They have to say now. With Me I know for a fact I get better by every Verse! And I will try My Hardest to always be better. So far, so good too, all My Supporters let it be known anytime they hear something New from Me, that they can hear The Growth. Jay-Z has been putting out Albums since '96 & He is still dominating The Rap Game in 2013, because He is too Consistent.

Q: What is your favorite part of performing?

A: Man I Love to Perform. My Favorite part of Performing would have to be just jamming out with The Crowd. Seeing how they react & just giving them a lot of Energy.

Q: What can your fans expect on the album you are currently pushing?

A: Well My Mixtape "Johnny Dep" is Hosted By DJ Omega & is out now on Datpiff. On this Project, You get a real good understanding of who Da Deputy is & what I'm about. I have so many different emotions & type of Joints on The Tape, that I think Anybody will at least hear 1 Song that they would like. It's a very Diverse Collection of Songs, that all blend together well & fit in The Story I'm trying to tell. Great Production, Good Concepts, BARS (laughs), a Solid Body of Work. Hip-Hop...

Q: What do you think of today's musical trends?

A: (laughs) Man it's some Trendsetters in The Game & then it's just a lot of Imitation.

Q: Any upcoming appearances?

A: Well right now, I'm featured in XPOZ Magazine Issue #67 with The Game on The Cover. They wrote a great Article on Me. In February I will be featured in Mr. Dreamz Magazine with Will Bynum of The Detroit Pistons on The Cover. Some Shows on The Schedule & a lot of Collabs. Matter fact, I just did a Record with this Band from Brazil called Club America. It's a Joint for their Album that We're all really excited about

Q: Any advice for upcoming artists?

A: Build a Team full of People that You Love & Trust, Do a lot of Networking & make The Type of Music that You want to make.

Q: Where can your fans find more info?

A: Keep up with Everything I do on http://twitter.com/dadeputy http://Facebook.com/dadeputy817 http://YouTube.com/chrisbdadeputy

Q: Last but not least, HYPE wants to know...What's your CRAZIEST "Where they do that at?!" moment...

A: (laughs) awe Man! I'd have to say The CRAZIEST thing that happened to Me was when, My Homie Rayski & I were Performing in Little Rock, Arkansas on The B.O.A.T.S Tour Opening up for 2 Chainz. So we rocking that Joint, People going crazy. And of course People in Front are reaching up and what not. So I'm shaking People's Hands & this White Woman was like "Can I get on Stage ??"!! (Laughs) it was so funny because She was going crazy to get My attention while I was rapping, so when The Hook came up, I finally realized what She was saying and I told Her "No!!" (Laughs) I felt bad, but she was on The Ratchet/Thirsty Side (Laughs).
